Google Chrome
Most of us use at least one Google service every day. Most of the Google applications are primarily accessed from a web browser. However, at the time when Chrome was announced, Google felt that the need for a better web browser. So it created Chrome. Google created Chrome not to win in terms of market share, but to raise the bar for web browsers in general. Google Chrome is a cross-platform open source web browser. It not only has a lot of features for end-users, but also a plethora of features for developers, which makes Chrome a gold standard for web developers. Let’s look at a few of these features.

Google Chrome is not only a cross-platform browser, but also a cross-platform operating system: a real operating system called Google Chrome OS. Chrome OS is a Linux-based operating system designed exclusively to work with web applications. Chrome OS is set to be released in the second half of 2010. The existence of both the Chrome OS and Chrome browser make Chrome an attractive platform for web developers.

You can use two methods to develop for Google Chrome:
Chrome Web Store app: Chrome web apps are the regular web applications, but with extra metadata to support installation and application listing.
Chrome extension:
As mentioned earlier, Google Chrome extensions allow you to add features to the browser or a third-party web application using standard web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and CSS. In this section we will be adopting an HTML5 image editor application called pbedit for the Chrome Web Store.
