Test on 255 devices at the Open Device Lab Bournemouth

by Rob Zwetsloot

The Open Device Lab Bournemouth will be opening its doors to freelancers, students and more to a collection of 255 devices for app and website development

In the spirit of open development and getting young people into coding, the Open Device Lab Bournemouth opened in July of this year as a free-to-use space for developers to test their apps, websites and other products on a range of devices. Their collection is growing though, and on the 4th November the ODL will be opening their doors with 255 devices.

This is just a small selection of what to expect

Shown off last night at Meetdraw 19 in Bournemouth, the new collection is thanks in part to a partnership with WDS, A Xerox Company. WDS are permanently loaning 231 devices to ODL, making it one of the largest collections in the world of its type.

The collection covers every major mobile device we can think of – from a selection of Nexus devices, Galaxy devices, iPhones and iPads, Blackberry’s and even some of the new Firefox OS phones like the geeks phone. A full list of the devices is available on their website – and it’s very impressive.

Advance bookings can also be made on the website for when the full range is available.
