Milestone 2 for openSUSE 12.2 has been released for testing

by Rob Zwetsloot

Development of openSUSE 12.2 is still on target, as the Milestone 2 release hits as planned, now with GRUB 2. The openSUSE project wants the community to help with this test release

Right on schedule, the latest Milestone release of openSUSE 12.2 has been made available, with plenty of new features to test, and even more bugs to fix. The release adds GRUB 2, Plymouth, GCC 4.7, and more.

More importantly though, in the announcement post Jos Poortvliet puts out a general call to the community for help to test and bug fix these development releases:

“Of course you’re wondering how you can help. This can start with testing…download Milestone 2 and try it out on your system! You can then check the most annoying bugs to see if your problems are there, if not, you can see the list of bugs and/or file a new one in Bugzilla. If the bug you find is very serious, add it to the list of annoying bugs!”

You can download openSUSE 12.2 Milestone 2 from the developer page on the openSUSE site. You may also want to check out our review of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2.
