Learn Android Studio, the new Android development environment
Follow our Android Studio tutorial in Linux User & Developer 131, and learn how to make Android apps while reading up on the Minnowboard and WordPress
It was surprising a little while ago when Google announced that they’d be dropping the Eclipse Android SDK plug-in to instead concentrate on a more focused Android development environment – Android Studio. Based on Intelli-J, the new IDE is still currently in development, but you can already create apps using it.
In Linux User & Developer 131, we teach you how to get to grips with Android Studio, familiarising ourselves with the interface before creating a simple app that teaches the necessary skills to start coding more complicated applications.
That’s not all for LUD 131 either – we have a more thorough review and breakdown of the Intel MinnowBoard, Intel’s partial Raspberry Pi competitor. We also have an interview with Mark Little, one of the co-creators of WordPress, to find out what he’s been doing since helping to create one of the most powerful open source blogging tools available today.
You can grab Linux User & Developer 131 from all good newsagents, and online via the Imagine Shop.
