GNU 30th Anniversary Hackathon next month
To celebrate GNU turning 30, MIT are planning to host a celebration and Hackathon on September 28th and 29th
We’re quickly approaching an open source landmark as GNU approaches 30 years of age. Its legacy has brought us Linux and the way we treat free and open source software today thanks to the GPLs that helps keep software open.
To celebrate this accomplishment, a weekend long celebration and hackathon is being put together at MIT, where the idea was initially thought up. Richard Stallman will also be present to talk about GNU. The focus of the hackathon will be federated publishing and communication services, along with new privacy tools.
Registration is now open on the GNU website, but be quick as registration ends on Friday 30th August. It’s also free.
