by Rob Zwetsloot

The same day as Firefox 12 is released, Mozilla Chairperson Mitchell Baker is being inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame

It’s a busy day over at the Mozilla Foundation, with not only the launch of Firefox 12 this afternoon, but also the induction of Mitchell Baker into the Internet Hall of Fame. Mitchell Baker is currently a Chairperson at the Foundation, however she was instrumental in its creation as the original CEO.

The Internet Society holds the Hall of Fame awards annually to publicly recognize people who have made significant contributions to the development and advancement of the Internet. As well as her work at Mozilla, Baker has done a lot of work to further the cause of open source technology and applications, ultimately culminating in the Firefox Web Browser.
