Fedora 19 out now
Fedora 19 has been released without delay, with new tools for novice and veteran developers, as well as upgraded admin tools
The Fedora 18 release cycle was full of issues, with delays putting the final release back by nearly two months. Fedora 19 has not had the same problems, with regular releases during development, resulting in the final release coming out yesterday. Schrodinger’s Cat is ready for use.
The new Fedora has some special developer updates. Firstly, a new Developer’s Assistant can help people get into code, with samples, templates and the ability to publish directly to GitHub. There’s also new support for 3D modelling and printing, as well as updates all round for makers and coders.
There are new updates for “Deploy, Monitor, and Manage” tools, such as a Resource Control for systemd, better restore functions, and new remote management infrastructure OpenLMI. You can download the ISO for the new Fedora now from the Fedora website.
