Fedora 18 delayed yet again
Problems have struck Fedora 18 again, causing yet another delay for the distro
It’s not uncommon in the open source world when things are delayed – it’s rarer that they have an actual release date to begin with. Fedora 18 has been no stranger to these delays, as it originally was supposed to be out in November last year. So it’s unsurprising that the final release has been delayed yet again.
At the scheduled Go/No-Go meeting, the Fedora team decided that the presence of some unresolved blocker bugs should push back the release by another week. From now on, each week a meeting will be held to decide whether or not 18 is ready for release.
The new release date for Fedora 18 is now 15th January 2013

It isn’t just open source that gets software projects delayed. Longhorn was delayed for years and on into oblivion and something entirely different from the original Longhorn specs was released as “Vista.”
