DuckDuckGo adds video and image search

by Rob Zwetsloot

Private, open source search engine DuckDuckGo gains video and image search in the beta, due to be implemented in normal version soon

With all the privacy concerns flying around over the past year it was only natural for people to get interested in DuckDuckGo. Used by default in a few distros, the search engine takes privacy seriously and is a great search engine on top of that. In an ongoing improvement process, DuckDuckGo had added new image and video search features in a beta update.

Along with video and image search, the beta has added auto-suggestions for searches and places. If all goes well the new features will be added to the full version in the next month, including fixes for some known issues in the beta such as settings or instant-answers not always working.

You can access the beta by going to next.duckduckgo.com. These changes are planned to be implemented into the full version by next month.
